Duterte: De Lima, immoral may driver-lover

President Rodrigo Duterte named Senator Leila De Lima as an adulterer for allegedly having an affair with her driver. The president also said that the senator was receiving money from drug lords inside the New Bilibid Prison. According to Duterte, De Lima's driver who she was having a romantic affair with is the one who acts as a bag man tasked with collecting drug money that was used in the former justice secretary's senatorial campaign this last election. Meanwhile, netizens have different reactions to the presidents tirades against the senator with some calling it unbecoming of a president while some says De Lima deserved to be shamed. Senator De Lima issued a statement regarding the matter crying foul of the presidents 'character assassination' on her. URC Buys Australia Snack Brand

URC has dropped more than 10% since claims of LEAD in some of its drink product in Vietnam. LATEST NEWS Aug 17 Philippine snacks and beverage manufacturer Universal Robina Corp said on Wednesday it is buying the maker of Snack Brands Australia (SBA) for A$600 million ($460.86 million), expanding its portfolio in the Oceania region. URC chart shows four red volumes  followed by a green volume worth 4.2 M.  Will URC bounce  or it will fall near  0.5(174) FIBO.  Intraday chart is still sideways with a volume breakout near the end. EARNINGS In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Friday, the company said its net income went up to P12.2 billion from P9.6 billion year-on-year driven by unrealized foreign exchange gains on its New Zealand business and moderate growth across its segments, but was weighed down by the business in Vietnam. Net sales increased by 4.2 percent to P85.37 billion, mainly driven by branded food products in the Philippines, Indonesia, Griffin's, and renewables.

The company said it had basic and diluted earnings of PHP0.122 per share for the quarter, compared to a loss per share of PHP0.070 in the prior-year period. Gaming revenue for the second quarter rose 42.6 percent, to just over PHP7.81 billion, compared to nearly PHP5.48 billion in the same quarter of 2015. It accounted for 93.4 percent of the firm's total revenue in the three months to June 30, at PHP8.37 billion. Operating costs and expenses fell slightly year-on-year in the quarter, by 1.8 percent, to just over PHP5.51 billion, versus PHP5.61 billion in the April to June period last year.

Philippine National Police chief Ronald Bato Dela Rosa engages in an action packed high speed criminal chase in a new mobile game for Android and iPhone. Armed with a gun and mounted at the back of a pick up truck, he's out to bust some criminals' heads. The game is developed by a Filipino studio - the one which developed the PBA Slam mobile game, Ranida Studios. Though the game can easily be identified as another Temple Run copycat, the fact that it is Filipino made and it features our current favorite personality Chief Bato it's still awesome. Senators Tito Sotto and Manny Pacquiao jokes about death penalty

Senators Tito Sotto and Manny Pacquiao made the senate hall crack up when they turned the issue of death penalty into a laughing stock. People got different views about the matter though. Some conservatives call the two elected officials' banter distasteful while supporters of Pacman and fans of noontime shows calls the conservatives hypocrites. The joke came in when Senator Sotto pressed Senator Pacquiao on what methods of choice he wants for death penalty. The Pambansang Kamao answered with death by hanging of firing squad as his preferred choice quipping "sisimpain lang po yung upuan".
